Bro. Jason Aabye was called to Harvest Baptist Church August 2017

Mark Smith – Executive Pastor

Bro. Mark Smith has been with Harvest since 1991 and has filled many roles during those years.  Bro. Smith assists the Senior Pastor with oversight of all areas of church administration.

Bro. Mark also leads the music ministry as well as providing pastoral care through regular hospital and home visiting.

Bro. Mark had trained at Trinity Baptist College prior to arriving at Harvest. Mark and his lovely wife, Glenda have raised 3 fine children; 2 sons, one of which is serving in the Marine Corp, and a daughter.  The Smiths have been blessed with 2 precious grandsons and a beautiful granddaughter.

Hugh McCollum – Evangelism Pastor

Bro. Hugh McCollum has served God in full time ministry for over 60 years.  Dr. McCollum is responsible to assist the Senior Pastor in coordinating all areas of evangelistic outreach including missions, soul winning visitation, follow up visiting and general outreach.  Bro. Hugh also directs our Tract Ministry. This ministry partners with Fellowship Tract League as a mail center for their Gospel tracts. To date, the tract ministry has mailed over 61 million Gospel tracts!

Bro. Hugh served in the Army Air Corp from 1945 – 1948. Upon discharge he joined the Air Force Reserves and enrolled in the University of Georgia. In 1950 he was called to active duty and stationed at Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico. It was while in Puerto Rico the Lord called him to preach.  He was released from active duty in May, 1951, married Norma Dyer on August 24, 1951 and transferred to Bob Jones University. In 1956 he joined the Army National Guard Reserves as a Chaplain (1st Lt), feeling God wanted him to pursue that line of ministry but God had other plans and called him to the mission field of Mexico where he served for 12 years. Upon returning from the mission field in 1970, Bro. McCollum pastored churches in Georgia, Pennsylvania, New Brunswick Canada, and Ohio. Retiring from the pastorate on Easter Sunday, 1994, he spent three years with Bearing Precious Seed, First Baptist Church, Milford, Ohio, as a Missionary/Evangelist before coming to Harvest in July 1997. Bro. McCollum has earned multiple degrees from various institutions through the years, including a Th.B., M.A., Doctor of Scripture Ministries and Ph.D.

Following the passing of his first wife, the Lord blessed Bro. Hugh with another wonderful spouse, Marie. Bro. Hugh and Marie have multiple children and many grandchildren. The McCollums enjoy leisurely living and love faithfully serving God together. Missionaries can reach Bro. McCollum at hbmissions@hbcfairdale.net.
