January 2025's Featured Sermon of the Month
In this powerful message, Pastor Jaime reminded the congregation of a truth that brings comfort in every season of life: when we don’t know what to say, how to pray, or what direction to take, the Holy Spirit steps in.
So often, we feel the pressure to have all the right words when we pray. But Scripture tells us that prayer is not about perfection—it’s about dependence. The Holy Spirit knows our hearts, our struggles, and our unspoken needs, and He intercedes for us in ways we cannot comprehend.
The Holy Spirit Helps in Our Weakness
Pastor Jaime began by reading Romans 8:26:
"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."
He explained that there are moments when we come before God empty-handed, weary, and unsure of what to say. But we are never alone in those moments—the Holy Spirit steps in, taking our burdens and translating them into prayers before the Father.
“There are days when you don’t even have the strength to pray, but the Holy Spirit is already speaking on your behalf.”
That’s the kind of God we serve—one who knows our struggles even before we say a word.
God’s Presence Is Our Strength
Turning to Psalm 3:3, Pastor Jaime reminded the congregation that no matter how dark life may seem, God is always there:
"But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head."
David, who wrote this Psalm, was facing enemies all around him. He had every reason to be afraid, but instead of giving in to fear, he put his trust in God.
“Some of you are feeling pressed on all sides—by struggles, by fears, by things you don’t even know how to pray about. But listen: God is your shield. When life knocks you down, He is the lifter of your head.”
Pastor Jaime encouraged everyone to take refuge in the presence of God, knowing that even in times of uncertainty, He never abandons His children.
Walking in the Spirit, Not Just Stepping Toward Him
Pastor Jaime made an important distinction: there’s a difference between taking a step toward God and truly walking with Him.
“Many people take a step—they show up to church, they pray when times are hard—but they don’t walk with God daily. The Holy Spirit doesn’t just want to meet with you on Sundays. He wants to lead you every single day.”
He encouraged the congregation to stay consistent in their faith—seeking God’s presence not only in crisis, but in the ordinary, daily moments of life.
God’s Promises Bring Peace
Closing with Isaiah 41:10, Pastor Jaime reminded everyone that God’s promises never fail:
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
He challenged the congregation to live in this truth—to remember that even when they feel weak, God is holding them up.
“When you’re overwhelmed, when you’re anxious, when you’re not sure how to pray—remember who is holding you.”
The Holy Spirit is not a distant helper—He is near, He is present, and He is actively working in our lives.
Are You Relying on the Holy Spirit?
Pastor Jaime left the congregation with three key questions to reflect on:
Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to help you when you pray, or are you trying to do it all on your own?
Do you recognize God as your shield, your strength, and the lifter of your head?
Are you walking with God daily, or just stepping toward Him when times get tough?
Let’s go forward in faith, relying on the Holy Spirit—not just in moments of weakness, but in every part of our lives. He is faithful, He is near, and He is interceding for us even now.
